Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts has begun a significant investment to update its offerings at Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal and added touches of the area’s Maya culture at select common areas throughout the resort.

Beginning in December, guests to the Riviera Maya property, just steps from the beach, will be able to enjoy an all-new sports bar, refurbished restaurants and an updated Kids Club and theatre – each with new décor inspired by the area’s history.

Throughout the property, guests will find added Maya influence via updated colour palettes in décor at various venues and added Maya symbolism. For example, the unique patterns and gold colours of maiz, which played an essential role in Maya history, will be present throughout.

As part of the renovations, the on-site bar is set to reopen as a sports bar serving an American food menu in a more casual atmosphere. Though the sports bar will be inspired by the typical American sports bar ambience, it will also pay homage to the most famous Maya sport, the Mesoamerican ballgame, with various touches in decor. Secondly, the Italian and seafood on-site restaurants will undergo a complete restoration featuring Mexican-style decor and vibrant colours inspired by local art and culture. At the seafood restaurant, the brand will update its décor with inspiration from the blue tones characteristic of the Mexican Caribbean sea. The property’s on site theatre will also be updated, mixing new, modern décor including Talavera ceramic columns, furniture with Maya symbolism, and the latest audiovisual technology.

LE BLANC CABOS UNVEILS EXCLUSIVE ‘ROYAL RESIDENCE’

Palace Resorts has announced the opening of Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos’ Royale Residence.

Not previously available to the public, this exclusive residence is located within Le Blanc Spa Resort, giving guests a private residence feel. With the comforts of a home and the amenities and service of a luxury resort, guests will enjoy “personalized butler service, exquisite cuisine, an opulent state-of-the-art spa and wellness centre and elaborate amenities.”

The lavish beachfront two-level residence measures an impressive 18,428 square feet and can accommodate up to 12 adults comfortably, including four oceanfront bedrooms (two of the rooms feature king-size beds). All four bedrooms feature a private bathroom with a pedestal tub and rain shower, Ferragamo bath amenities, plush bathrobes and slippers.

The residence also features its own private fitness centre, where guests can enjoy a personal Yoga Instructor, a movie theatre, home office and living room. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious dining room for up to 16 guests.

The outdoor space includes a 1,400 sq. ft. infinity pool and sun deck. The residence also features its own private spa treatment room, where guests can enjoy a complimentary massage and facial. A private vehicle is also available for guests who want to get to know the destination of Los Cabos.
