Contiki has introduced three new trips in two new destinations – Namibia and Botswana – in its 2020-21 Africa program.
The two new itineraries feature unique Treehouse and private Safari Camp accommodation, additional departure dates and new local and authentic community experiences.
“Our Africa product has been in incredibly high demand since it launched, and we’re excited to be able to offer more of Africa to clients than ever before, now that we’ve expanded through Namibia and Botswana,” says Sheralyn Berry, president of Contiki Canada. “We can’t wait for young travellers to experience the new adventures for themselves. The new destinations, addition of ‘Special Stay’ accommodation like the treehouses and Contiki-only Safari camps and new handpicked ethical experiences that give back to the local communities through Contiki Cares, powered by TreadRight, all add to the exclusive experiences clients can have in Africa with Contiki.”
Tailored to Africa, transportation is included, from internal flights to get from point A to B quickly to open-top safari vehicles for game drives and 4×4’s for cruising the salt flats, so clients can focus on making every moment count.
Contiki’s complete Africa product offering delivers an impressive variety of real, local and unique experiences on every trip, with a number of ethical experiences aligned with its sustainability commitment through Contiki Cares, powered by TreadRight. The new included and optional ethical experiences include a Protrack Anti-poaching Centre experience (including a donation to the centre) near Kruger, visit to Ju/’Hoansi Living Museum Indigenous Village in Namibia, a Township tour and School visit (including a donation to the school) in Cape Town, Magic Beans community youth theatre dinner and show in Botswana, and Shanga community project visit supporting disabled community members in Tanzania.
New itineraries include Okavango Delta and Deserts (13 days); Southern Africa Safari (23 days, from Cape Town to Windhoek); and Cape Town Explorer (three days).
