January 29, 2019

Premier yacht charter company The Moorings has a new destination on its list – Martinique.

Bareboat and skippered charters aboard sail and power yachts are bookable now for winter departures. The Martinique fleet will include mid-size Beneteau monohulls, sailing catamarans from Robertson & Caine, including the award-winning Moorings 4500 and the flagship 514 Power catamaran.

Located in the Lesser Antilles’ Windward Islands, the volcanic-formed island of Martinique is a mountainous region part of the French Republic, making it a mecca for French-Caribbean culture, maritime history and world-class sailing.

Following a 45-minute commute from the Martinique Aimea Cesaire International Airport, a Martinique yacht charter begins upon arrival to The Moorings base at the modern La Marina du Marin. This eco-friendly harbour features a wide range of services and amenities to accommodate visiting guests, including: a supermarket, bakery, laundromat, post office, tobacco shop, Currency Exchange office, medical center, car rental, tourism office, ferry service to Saint Lucia, seven shops, eight restaurants and two bar lounges.

Martinique is a cultural mosaic that effortlessly blends cosmopolitan appeal with local island charm.

“From hiking through lush rain forests to bathing in natural hot springs, strolling along exotic black-sand beaches to feasting on authentic French and Creole cuisine, this one-of-a-kind destination is worthy of every traveller’s bucket list,” says Josie Tucci, vice president of sales and marketing for The Moorings.
