The Fantasyland Hotel at the West Edmonton Mall has taken to the high seas, with its new Pirate Theme Room.

Designed to look like the private quarters of a Captain’s cabin onboard a pirate ship, the room features a grand mahogany queen size bed complete with canopy as well as two bunk beds built into a one-of-a-kind, custom-built ship.

But just because guests are on the high seas, it doesn’t mean they need to leave luxury behind as the room features a state-of-the-art LED lit, jetted hot tub as well as a spacious bathroom.

The pirate theme room has a window overlooking the World Waterpark to enhance the high-seas atmosphere.

This design is completely immersive, and no detail has been overlooked – from the wooden plank floor and the custom treasure map murals covering the walls, to the life-size replica statues and props – transporting guests to the Golden Age of piracy, but with all the modern amenities.

Our pirate room includes all of the amenities that guests have come to expect from Fantasyland, including a spa shower with over-sized rain shower head, a customizable light up air jet hot tub, and plenty of space to move around and enjoy the unique features of the room.”

Ken Christensen, creative director, West Edmonton Mall & Fantasyland Hotel, said, “The Pirate room is a hidden treasure and is the only room that has a view inside West Edmonton Mall’s World Waterpark. Every corner of this room has been themed with the custom work of our in-house team of artists, from the hand painted murals that cover the entire room, to the hand-applied gold leaf details throughout.”

Fantasyland Hotel is only hotel at West Edmonton Mall and has 355 total guest rooms, with 175 of those theme rooms.
