After much anticipation, the long awaited Santa Monica Proper Hotel has officially opens its doors “as the first and only luxury lifestyle hotel to open in Santa Monica.”

Features of the 271-room property include lobby lounge bar Palma, 24-hour fitness centre and 24,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as a rooftop pool and circular rooftop bar, Calabra.

Later this summer, the much anticipated ground floor restaurant Onda, with first-ever partnership of LA native Jessica Koslow of Sqirl and Gabriela Camara of Contramar in Mexico City will open. Surya Spa, the 3,000 square foot Ayurvedic spa by Martha and Roger Soffer, will open this fall. In the interim, guests can book spa experiences, with free transfers, to Brentwood.

Guest rates will begin at approximately US$450 per night.

Proper will continue its brand expansions with two additional properties opening early this fall, including Downtown Los Angeles Proper and its first ever non-California property in Texas with Austin Proper Hotel & Residences.
