Rocky Mountaineer is targeting the Chinese travel market with a series of new, premium travel experiences that designed to provide travellers from China with privileged access to the Canadian Rocky Mountains by train.

New for 2020, Rocky Mountaineer is offering two premium vacation packages, which offer the world-renowned experience in Mandarin with considerate Mandarin-speaking hosts onboard the train, along with a selection of Canadian-inspired and Chinese-inspired dishes. A Mandarin-speaking tour director will be available to assist guests on the train and in hotels.
The Rocky Mountaineer all-inclusive vacation packages for 2020 are seven days and six nights, featuring two days onboard the train with the Mandarin-language service. Both packages include six breakfasts and five lunches, ensuring the travellers are well accommodated.
The packages are:
- First Passage to the West Highlights: This package features two nights in Vancouver; two days on Rocky Mountaineer between Vancouver and Banff; two nights in Banff; one night in Calgary; sight-seeing tours of Vancouver, Banff, Lake Louise; and a helicopter tour in the Rocky Mountains.
- Journey through the Clouds Excursion: This package features one night in Vancouver; two days on Rocky Mountaineer between Vancouver and Jasper; one night in Jasper; two nights in Banff; one night in Calgary; sight-seeing tours of Vancouver, Banff, Lake Louise; and a helicopter tour in the Rocky Mountains.
The packages start at CDN $3,614 per person, based on double occupancy.
Travellers looking to experience Rocky Mountaineer can plan for one of more than 50 Mandarin-language journeys in 2020; or take advantage of the full schedule of English-language departures, both of which operate from April to October.
As well, travellers can arrange for one of the Rocky Mountaineer developed vacation packages; or book the two-day train journey exclusively as part of their wider Canadian travel plans. This schedule builds on the success of 2019, where Rocky Mountaineer welcomed more than 1,000 guests from China, across its English and Mandarin journeys.
