Resort underwent complete refurbishment

An upscale RIU Hotels & Resorts property in the Pacific-fronting Mexican state of Nayarit last year marked its 15th anniversary by adopting a new look and reaching out to a different market segment at the same time.
The Riu Palace Pacifico, which opened in October, 2008, temporarily closed its doors in August for what the company labels a complete renovation. It reopened in early December.
“The Riu Palace Pacifico has undergone a complete renovation. This includes all the common areas, rooms, restaurants, as well as technical and employee areas,” says hotel director Alexander Martin. “After its complete refurbishment, the hotel is now Adults Only, being one of the few hotels with this kind of offer in the area. Moreover, for guests that look to elevate their vacation experience we have implemented our new service, Elite Club by RIU: our new premium service that offers exclusive advantages such as rooms with the best views, personalized check in and late check out, a private beach area, welcome gifts or access to the finest drinks brands.”
Riviera Nayarit tourism officials say their region is the fastest-growing tourism region in all Mexico, with Martin acknowledging that those who decide to vacation there have numerous accommodation options.
“We are convinced that this renovation is very close to being considered the opening of a brand-new hotel, where every small detail has been taken into account,” he said.
But he adds that his resort has an upper hand when it comes to attracting guests.
“At the Riu Palace Pacifico, as well as all RIU hotels around the globe, we always strive to offer our ‘service with heart,’ taking into consideration all small details in order to accomplish the satisfaction of all our guests,” he continues. “Notwithstanding, our gastronomic and beverage offer is among the most varied and complete ones in the area. After the refurbishment we have increased the number of restaurants and bars, highlighting our 24-hour sports bar with a table-served menu.
“And also, we cannot underestimate the impact that the new Elite Club by RIU has, complementing our offer by bringing a new sophisticated product to the menu.”
Martin says 2024 is actually exceeding resort management expectations, “very pleasantly highlighting the acceptance of our new product Elite by RIU.”
Meanwhile, Martin says Riu’s presence in the region enables the company to ensure that those who enjoy a good party will be able to have a lively Friday night if they choose.
“I’d like to highlight our entertainment offer, especially our famous weekly Riu Get Together Party,” Martin continues. “RIU has three hotels in the destination: the Riu Vallarta, Riu Jalisco and our Riu Palace Pacifico. Every Friday, the Riu Jalisco hosts a Riu Party for the guests in the three hotels, alternating the White and the Neon Party. These are great and professional events, full of colour, light, performances and of course, music. They are for the whole family and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed.”
