Remote Lands' CEO on the luxe travel operator’s new North American private jet journey
With a focus typically on Asia, Remote Lands knew that many travellers would be looking to travel closer to home in the near future. As such, the ultra-luxe travel operator debuted a special 12-night “Adventures In The Americas” Aman Jet Expedition for 2022 taking in some remarkable stays in the Dominican Republic, Turks & Caicos, Utah and Wyoming, USA.
Taking place Jan 23-Feb. 4, the trip is limited to 14 guests and is priced at $69,888 per person based on double occupancy with a single supplement cost of $29,888.
Travel Courier connected with Catherine Heald, CEO and Co-Founder of Remote Lands, to find out more about the private jet experience and the important role of travel advisors.
Anyone who has stayed at an Aman is drawn in by the unique Aman feeling and almost instantly becomes an “Amanjunkie”. As a guest you feel like you are being welcomed into a magnificent private home where you can have anything you want at any time. The local character of each property, the charm of the staff and the flawless service make Amans quite unlike any other hotel group. This journey will allow travellers the opportunity to reach all of these destinations without multiple connections and significantly reduces commercial air travel time, allowing travellers the ability to just enjoy travel. Even when flying to the destinations, they are able to enjoy the Aman experience from one destination to the next.
The Aman Jet Expeditions are the perfect hybrid of a small-group journey and private travel, designed for those who don’t normally participate in group trips. Travellers will be able to select their own daily activities and enjoy the resorts as they please, with the group only coming together on the jet and for exclusive experiences like a private yacht excursion or evening dinner parties. The expeditions bring together like-minded travellers and appeal to those who want to meet interesting people. Many of our guests make new life-long friends that they continue to travel with and nearly all have travelled on subsequent expeditions after their first.
Can you talk about some of your other creative itineraries or approaches you’ve implemented to attract travellers during this time?
High end travellers will have lost almost two years of international travel — and they want to make up for lost time in 2022 with longer trips (three weeks instead of two weeks), more in-depth journeys where they have deeper learning experiences and spend more time in each destination. Travellers are no longer putting off their dream trips so they are also prepared to spend a little more since they have not travelled for over 17 months, they want something to look forward to.
Travel advisors are now more important than ever. During the post-COVID recovery, travellers need to have their hands held now more than ever. They need someone behind the scenes watching their every move and ready to step in and help if a flight is cancelled, a COVID test comes back positive or if something else goes wrong. The chances of things going wrong are higher more now than ever, and that could continue on for some time until this crisis is completely behind us.
The Aman Jet Expeditions are one-stop shops with private flights, so everything is handled for you. We are requiring all of our guests on the Aman Jet Expeditions to be fully vaccinated.
