Carwash raises funds in support of KidSport

With facemasks and safety protocols in place, the team at Personal Travel Management banded together for a successful charity carwash in support of KidSport Burnaby, which helps families who face financial barriers that prevent children from playing organized sport.

“KidSport’s mission is to help local kids experience the lifelong benefits of sport,” says Darci Murray, Director of Marketing and Growth Strategy at Personal Travel Management. “Kids learn leadership, hard work, dedication, self-confidence, and build healthy habits through a necessary positive support network that helps create healthy adults.”

In total, the Burnaby-based boutique agency with independent agents with various travel expertise — including sport team travel — raised $1012.

“The agency had a goal of $700 so their expectations were surpassed. $1012 goes a long way with KidSport and they were ecstatic to receive the donation. Phones were buzzing all day long with tweets of appreciation and live Instagram posts,” Murray adds. “It was an absolutely fantastic day with a vibrant, fun, passionate group of independent agents that thrive together as a team.”

Although the agency had donated to KidSport for years, the pandemic led the team to take action.

“Personal Travel Management agents were walking the streets with glittery signs while others were deep in soapsuds on ladders,” she recalls. “The music was blaring Rose Royce’s Car Wash song, amongst other feel-good vibes, the sun was shining, and sun tans were glowing.”

Every car that was washed received a bag containing a Royal Caribbean face mask, a travel chapstick, a pen, lollipop, KidSport wristband, information on the agents that washed the cars and Canadian Road trip ideas from Anderson Vacations.

“Plus, a $300 gas card was given away and a night in the Rockies valued at $400 was won,” she says.
