Oasis Hotels & Resorts kicked off the new year with a couple of major name changes
As of Jan. 3, the Grand Oasis Palm — one of six properties Oasis has in the Cancun area, was renamed The Sens Cancun, while the next door Oasis Palm was renamed the Grand Oasis Palm, marking the end of the Oasis Palm name.
Both properties will remain family properties.
Pam Bassett, Oasis’ business development manager for Canada, says the development won’t lead to any disruptions for those who have booked the properties.
“This should not affect the agents as Oasis Palm guests will be upgraded to the Grand Oasis Palm and Grand Oasis Palm guests will be accommodated in the building that was once the Oasis Palm,” she says.
Oasis now offers the Grand Oasis Cancun, The Pyramid Cancun, Sens Cancun, Grand Oasis Palm, OH Cancun, the Urban Oasis, and Smart Cancun by Oasis.
Bassett says Oasis has built a following in this country.
“Oasis Hotels is very well known brand in the Canadian Market and we offer something for everyone,” she continues. “The Pyramid and the Grand Oasis Cancun, both all-inclusives, are located within the Grand Oasis Cancun resort Entertainment complex – great for all demographics, all ages. The new Sens Cancun all-inclusive is for adults and families with 2 adult-only floors and adult-only restaurants and bars. There are some shared facilities with the Grand Oasis Palm next door, such as the kiddo zone and kids club.
“The Grand Oasis Palm all -inclusive is our true family resort, featuring a fantastic kiddo zone and supervised kids club for children 3 to 12 years and shares some facilities with the Sens Cancun.
“The OH Cancun the Urban Oasis — which includes breakfast daily — and The Smart Cancun by Oasis — which is E.P – are both downtown Cancun city hotels.”
Bassett says Oasis doesn’t plan to add any more hotels but will continue to always look for opportunities to update the concept of its hotels.
Meanwhile, Bassett says this winter has gotten off to a strong start for Oasis.
“We are pretty well sold out from now to Jan. 1 at all hotels and some dates in March at the Grand Oasis Cancun. January to March continues to be our high occupancy dates and we see a lot of bookings coming through.
“We have recently given our partner tour operators reduced rates which they have converted into great selling prices for the travel agents to offer their clients.
“I would recommend that customers book early to avoid being disappointed that rooms are not available for their travel dates.”
