Europe-bound clients can consider a stopover in Iceland

Epic waterfalls, black sand beaches, out of this world landscapes, northern lights, geothermal spas and wild horses. For a small destination, Iceland has a lot of offer for Canadian travellers. For clients who are heading to Europe or the UK via Icelandair, the Stopover in Iceland program allows them to stay for a day or up to a week for no additional airfare.
“The Icelandair Stopover program has been around since the 1960’s, and it’s great because it offers travellers the opportunity to maximize their time off while on their vacation and visit more than one place on their same trip or itinerary – visitors can tack on up to seven days in Iceland on their way to and from Europe and the UK without any additional airfare,” Jón Skafti Kristjánsson, Head of Sales North America at Icelandair, tells Travel Courier.
For clients who have the vacation time, the offer allows travellers to experience two destinations for the price of one airfare.
“For example, you could easily fly to Iceland from Canada, Stopover in Iceland on your way to Faroe Islands, or on the way back and get to experience the best of what these two beautiful places have to offer,” he adds. “It has grown tremendously in popularity over the years as travellers are always looking for the best way to get the most out of their vacation time and Iceland is already on the way to many of the most popular cities in Europe and the UK.”
