GO BACK TO SCHOOL WITH ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA
The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority has relaunched its Travel Agent University with updated destination details including new events calendar, restaurants and resorts.
The online digital platform allows travel agents from around the world to take part in online courses ranging in a variety of Antigua and Barbuda related topics.
Once on the website, travel agents and tour operators can follow the simple steps to register. With the goal of helping better serve your clients in mind, the online training platform is designed to take users on a virtual journey through Antigua and Barbuda, as they learn about the ins and outs of the twin-island nation and all its intricate selling points.
Upon completing each of the six modules, the user will be asked to take an exam to test their knowledge of what they have learned from the course. After successful completion, the user will be presented with a certificate.
The platform can even be used by agents to log their bookings. If and when they sell Antigua and Barbuda, agents will be encouraged to consistently log in and provide some details such as booking date, reference number, and number of travellers.
This will help determine who the top agents are, which in turn, flows into FAM trip attendance decisions and rewarding the top sellers.
Tameka Wharton, senior marketing and sales manager, Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, has a special treat in store for this year’s academics and alumni. The top 50 agents, as determined by logged bookings, will be receiving a special token as appreciation for participating in the Travel Agent University. Along with a personalized note from Wharton, agents can look forward too getting a taste of local Antiguan treats!
