In memoriam: Krista Pask
April 27, 2020

Remembering Krista Pask, Sarnia, Ont., 1985 - 2019.

Baxter Media was saddened to learn last year’s Travel Agent Appreciation cover agent Krista Pask had passed away at the age of 34.

Pask worked as a travel consultant at Transat Travel in Sarnia, Ont. for 12 years, a job that made her feel, “very blessed to have seen parts of the world that some only dream about.”

After being diagnosed with cancer for the second time in 2018, the first time being 17 years earlier at age 16, Pask created a blog called That Girls Got Moxie, detailing and documenting the good, the bad and the ugly side of living with the disease.

Pask said her grandmother was her main inspiration to step into the travel world as an agent.

“I was always in awe of her stories, pictures and souvenirs when she returned from her travels. I always dreamed of learning about places she was able to experience, and hopefully one day go myself. She always had the utmost respect and trust in her agent, and I wanted people to have that same feeling with me.”

Her favourite part of the job was learning something new all the time.

Everyday is a different day from; the research, the bookings and especially the people you meet,” she said. “I love having the opportunity to make clients into clients for life and build friendships.”

An avid explorer, she travelled to over 30 countries and had hopes of visiting Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

“In Peru, I tried their local delicacy; Alpaca and Guinea Pig. In Finland, I tried Reindeer. Both a very mind over matter experience,” she said. “The most fun experience was sand surfing in Australia and completing a 30 day cruise with my dad up the West Coast of Africa.”
