Iberostar says it’s easily able to accommodate those seeking an upscale vacation on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, citing one of its brands as one that those seeking a particularly comfortable stay will appreciate.
The Spanish chain has built an impressive presence on that coastline, with that presence including tony Iberostar Grand.
“Iberostar Grand resorts are the perfect setting for those that want to be surrounded by only the finest,” says Joao Abegao, business development director, Iberostar Americas. “As the epitome of grandeur and luxury, your clients receive personalized attention right from the moment they arrive at the destination. We offer private transfers, 24-hour room service, butler service for select rooms, and more.
“For example, in The Iberostar Grand Paraíso, guests can indulge in the utmost pampering with our spa treatments, relax poolside, or lay out on a Balinese bed while enjoying the cool Caribbean breeze. They can taste our world-class cuisine, enjoy top-notch liquor at the bar, and attend nightly entertainment with performances that will leave them mesmerized. I really believe that one of the things in particular that makes me very proud of the Iberostar Grand Paraiso is the grandeur and elegance of the property. From the largest to the smallest intricate details, the guest knows they are going to be pampered.”
Iberostar has 11 hotels facing the Mexican Caribbean coast, with those hotels distributed between Cancun, the Riviera Maya and Playa Del Carmen, as well as the island of Cozumel.
(The company also offers Iberostar Selection Playa Mita in the Riviera Nayarit on the Pacific coast, adding its guests will enjoy “spectacular views of the sunset.”)
Abegao says his company is determined not to let the grass grow under its feet, despite already being well represented in the region.
“Iberostar is always evolving to maintain the quality of its product and customer satisfaction under the umbrella of being a company with a responsible tourism business model focused on caring for people and the environment,” he continues. “The goal is that its clients continue to keep the experience in Iberostar in mind as the best option to spend their holidays with complete experiences and for the whole family.
“To maintain the success, the company is moving forward with innovations, such as new entertainment offerings, with options such as Ilúzio, a gastronomic experience that combines haute cuisine, with a musical show that integrates iconic songs and spectacular magic tricks, and Dolce, a haute cuisine tasting, in which spectators can please their palate with a variety of international flavours; as well as the Rocktails, a fun cocktail class to the rhythm of the best hits.”
Ongoing renovations at Iberostar Mexican properties see the Iberostar Selection Paraíso Lindo seeing half of its 147 rooms redone in 2023 and the rest completed in 2024; the Iberostar Selection Cancún having 100% of rooms renovated; Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya also having 100% of the rooms renovated; the Iberostar Playa Paraíso Complex in the Riviera Maya offering New Kangaroo Space for children under 3 years; and the renovation of Pueblo Paraíso, with a space within the Shopping Center enabling guests to find, in addition to shops, a fun place to enjoy Mexican culture.
As well, the Iberostar Grand Paraíso: now offers The Grand Cellar (additional cost), which offers more than “200 wines imported from the most prestigious world wine regions.”
Iberostar is also planning a Grand Hotel in the Riviera Nayarit near the Iberostar Selection Playa Mita, but there is no official date for the opening.
Outside México, Iberostar will arrive in a new destination in 2024, opening a Grand Hotel in Eagle Beach, Aruba.
Abegao says Iberostar happily caters to different segments of the traveling public.
“At Iberostar Beachfront Hotels we have upscale resorts for everyone, for all types of vacations on the best beachfront locations,” he states. “Our Grand hotels are adults-only and where the guests can experience the exclusivity of detailed personalized services; the Selection hotels are 5-star family friendly resorts with innovative leisure and fine cuisine experiences, enhanced services and additional all-inclusive options; Coral Level Category, a hotel within a resort, these smaller, stylish, contemporary all-suite concept hotels with the private exclusive areas and elevated all-inclusive experiences; and the Iberostar Category is an affordable all-inclusive family friendly experience with excellent service and quality cuisine.”
Abegao says athletic sorts will appreciate Iberostar stays, citing facilities for energetic guests.
“It is worth mentioning that sport groups are very special to us, we have 2 well-known golf courses: Iberostar Club Golf Cancun and Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club, where international tournaments have been held; a soccer field in Cancun, tennis; completed gym Fit&Fun; and several other sports offerings.
“Iberostar is always evolving to maintain the quality of its product and customer satisfaction under the umbrella of being a company with a responsible tourism business model focused on caring for people and the environment. We are recognized for our sustainability policy Wave of Change (aimed at helping safeguard oceans); we offer a distinct service which is reflected in our team; our honest cuisine and the places we create to ensure our guests’ relaxation. Our Star Camp is a new concept in children’s entertainment that combines entertainment and social values; and our Aliveness concept — reconnect: with yourself, nature and your surroundings, with very diverse activities, designed to encourage our guests to take care of themselves, whatever their level of fitness may be. Reconnect with your inner and outer nature.
“We believe we have the best option for each vacation, so the guests can choose whatever fits better to their aim.”
Abegao praises Mexico as a vacation destination, pointing to what he calls a rich culture; great cuisine; a diverse landscape that features beaches, cenotes, pyramids, jungles and fabulous beaches: and hospitable people.
Meanwhile, Abegao says Iberostar is keen on working with travel agents in this country.
“We have a team of business development managers in key regions in Canada attending events and assisting travel agents,” he reports. “They recognize the brand because they have repeat clients going our hotels that have shaped the confidence in the brand. We have a loyalty program — Star Agents — with over 5,000 agents already registered and increasing. It offers exclusive benefits to our travel agent partners. They earn points on all Iberostar reservations, access exclusive discounts for their personal stays and book free stays at our hotels when they redeem their Star Agents points.”
Abegao predicts this will be a strong winter for Iberostar and suggests that agent book in advance for the best deals and availability.
