Exoticca puts the focus on the trade with launch of travel agent portal

Small tour operator Exoticca is amping up its trade presence in Canada with the launch of a new travel agent portal.

What’s in it for travel advisors? Well, commission on the entire package — including airfare — for one.

To find out more about Exoticca’s growth in the Canadian market, Travel Courier caught up with Denise Harper, Vice President of Sales, Canada at Exoticca.

Tell us a little bit about Exoticca and what sets the small tour operator apart?

Exoticca is a small tour operator specializing in private, customizable and flexible travel at unbelievable pricing. Our top destinations are Peru, Ecuador, India, South Africa, Jordan, Egypt, Thailand, Vietnam and Greece. All of our trips include airfare, accommodation, transfers, activities and some meals. We also offer three categories of accommodation to allow the traveller choice! Our tours are designed to allow flexibility and choice to what they see, where they visit, where they eat and where they stay.

Are you noticing any interesting travel trends for the year ahead? What or where is selling well?

For us, Europe, South America and Asia are performing really well. We have seen a lot of interest in Greece & Portugal, Peru & Ecuador as well as Thailand. We have received bookings for Q2 and Q3 of this year!

What’s in it for travel advisors and what inspired the launch of the new trade division?

We are really excited to offer commission on the total package price including airfare. The agents are able to earn commission at the time of deposit as well. They don’t have to wait until their customer returns from travel. We have also created a travel portal specifically for our agent partners.

How is Exoticca working to expand its presence in the Canadian market?

We are working directly with the consortium and host agencies to create preferred partnerships.  We are creating strategic marketing and sales plans along with specific agent training on the product.

Do you have anything to share or add that would be beneficial to travel agents?

We offer travel to exotic destinations at affordable pricing. We are focused on the agent journey and delivering a product that makes the traveller come back again and again to that agent to assist them in growing their business. The flexibility of our tours allows the traveller to see the destination on their time.
