A look at some of the hottest new resorts and the latest renovations and updates at some remarkable properties around the globe.
Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, has completed the first phase of its property-wide refresh, marking the most extensive renovation since its launch more than 30 years ago.
Set on 40 acres fronting Maui’s Wailea Beach, the updated resort features newly revamped rooms and suites in the Napua tower, a revitalized lounge, a new brunch restaurant, ‘Ikena, and an artisanal grab-and-gourmet market, Loulu.
Meanwhile, Grand Wailea’s 50,000 square-foot wellness sanctuary, Spa Grande, is undergoing a top-to-bottom transformation set for 2023.
A new modern hotel by Accor has opened in Mexico City as the Novotel brand marks its 20th anniversary in the city. The 106-room Novotel Mexico City World Trade Center features impressive views of the city and was created with the brand’s newest vision for modern hotel design.
Delia Bistro, the hotel’s restaurant and bar will serve Mediterranean flavours with Mexican flare for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serve a wide assortment of beverages. The restaurant and bar décor are inspired by different neighbourhoods in Mexico City, as well as the Mayan symbol of the moon, and features large wall murals designed by celebrated Mexican artist Rocca Luis César.
Novotel Mexico City World Trade Center also features a well-equipped meeting room (654 sq.ft.) decorated in soft mauve hues and a modern fitness centre. The hotel will offer free accommodation and breakfast for up to two children under 15 years old in the same room, an extended checkout option on Sundays until 5:00 pm (subject to availability,) and pet guests are welcome.
W Philadelphia Hotel
Clients looking for a little wow factor can check into the newly completed Extreme Wow Suite at the W Philadelphia Hotel.
The W’s swank spin on a presidential hotel suite comes complete with a DJ booth, a spinning bed, a custom gold-trimmed foosball table, graffiti-font area rugs and marble accents. The lavish, 2,300-square-foot suite is located on the 49th floor, offering sweeping views over the city.
The vibrant music scene of South Philly in the ‘70s and the history and culture of the French Revolution inspired the “hedonistic, playful” interiors by Design Studio Limited’s Sharilyn Olson Rigdon.
This suite is far from boring!
