Hamilton International Is Ready For Summer
April 18, 2019

Summer is fast approaching and John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport is gearing up for a busy one. The airport’s announcement of its official 2019 summer program will be supported by its “we fly there” advertising campaign with activities planned to highlight the increased domestic services, year-round U.S., Mexico and Caribbean services and the new Hamilton to Dublin service.

These international destinations are a great addition to an already robust summer program featuring increased frequencies to domestic destinations Abbotsford, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Halifax.

WestJet continues to offer passengers daily flights from Hamilton to its hub in Calgary which allows travelers to connect to destinations in California, Hawaii and beyond. This service increases to twice daily in June.

Swoop will celebrate its first anniversary on June 20 and this summer will increase frequencies from Hamilton to Abbotsford, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Halifax, perfect for travelers wanting to explore Canada. Additionally, Swoop will continue to operate international flights from Hamilton to Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Cancun and Montego Bay.

Norwegian commenced four times weekly non-stop service between Hamilton and Dublin, Ireland on March 31. This new transatlantic service is a first for Norwegian in Canada and marks the much-anticipated return of Europe service from Hamilton International. Norwegian?s base in Dublin will also offer travelers the opportunity to connect to other destinations throughout Europe including London, Paris, Oslo and more.

Dina Carlucci, director, marketing and communications for Hamilton International Airport, said: “We are very excited that Swoop is continuing to operate several international flights from Hamilton throughout the summer essentially making these five routes year-round while also adding additional frequencies to its successful domestic program.”

Carlucci continued: “Swoop’s summer schedule is complemented by WestJet’s daily flights to Calgary and Norwegian’s four-times weekly service to Dublin. These are great travel options for anyone who wants to explore Canada, enjoy a getaway to Florida, Las Vegas, a beach destination or head across the pond for a summer vacation in Europe.”

In 2018, John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport served 725,630 passengers, a year-over-year increase of 21%. The airport is owned by the City of Hamilton and managed under an agreement by TradePort International Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vantage Airport Group.
