Q&A with Sheila Aue, Trevello Travel Group

Sheila Aue has been in the travel industry since 2004, after leaving her corporate career career behind to follow her passion and focus on helping clients make their travel dreams a reality. Part of Trevello Travel Group, she specializes in the Caribbean, Europe, South Pacific, Asia and Africa. A Virtuoso certified member, she has a wide range of expertise from adventure travel and family getaways to escorted tours and beach holidays.

Tell us a little about yourself and how long you’ve been in the industry?

I’ve been in the travel industry for 20 years. I felt the need to follow my passion after working several years in the corporate world as an Information Technology professional. 

What’s your favourite type of travel?

I love the beach, nature and immersive types of travel where you can live like a local. Seeing how other cultures live, experiencing their culinary styles and understanding their beliefs is totally fascinating to me.

Where are you going next?

My next travel trip is actually an adventure travel conference in Mexico where I will get to experience Chetumal and meet with suppliers across Mexico, Central and South America. And then to the Azores Conference with ACTA in November. I’m sure I’ll be squeezing a couple other trips in there as well to fill some gaps.
