Q&A with Travel Gurus' Natsai Zhou
Tell us a little about yourself and how long you’ve been a travel advisor?
Well, I am very new to the industry, just graduating college in July. I’ve only been in the industry for about three months now.
Why did you decide to become a travel advisor?
Travelling is my passion. Originally, I wanted to be a flight attendant, however, once I started doing more of the agency work in school I just fell in love with it. It brings me such fulfillment and purpose and that’s the ideal goal when choosing what you are going to make your career.
What do you specialize in?
I aim to specialize in as many types of travel as possible. I am quite excited to get into groups even though I know how hectic it can be. But you can never have enough knowledge and skill, and if I plan to help people with all types of travel inquiries, I hope to be able to apply my knowledge to best help them.
What do you wish everybody knew about travel advisors?
I think for me in what I’ve experienced so far, just to know that our goal is to ultimately help you and help bring an exciting memorable experience for you and your loved ones.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
Honestly, talking to people – with me loving travel and everything to do with it – I love talking to clients with that same love for travelling and wanting to have amazing adventurous experiences in life.
What destinations and types of trips are you booking right now?
Right now I’m doing a lot of vacation packages, especially for this holiday season coming up, it gets really cold in this city so everyone’s just trying to get to hot weather and a beautiful beach.
What’s your best piece of advice for new agents?
It’s a nerve-wracking and quite intimidating industry to get into but just make sure you love it and that’s something you really want to do. Always keep that spark that got you into it in the first place, and don’t let anyone discourage you or make you feel like you can’t do it, you can!
