FAM was an immersion in the heart of the historical and natural wonders of the Hashemite Kingdom
Exotik Journeys held an educational FAM trip to Jordan from Feb. 3-10, taking in the country’s most iconic historical, cultural and natural sites. Lina Côté, sales director, and Émilie Prudhomme, product manager for Asia and the Middle East, accompanied the owners and directors of Transat Distribution Canada agencies on a discovery ofwonders of the Hashemite Kingdom.
The trip began in Amman, where the group landed before heading to Mount Nebo, a biblical site offering a spectacular panoramic view of the Holy Land. Then, in Madaba, famous for its 6th-century Byzantine mosaic depicting the map of Palestine, participants immersed themselves in the Christian history of the region. The day ended with a trip to Petra, the famous Nabataean city carved into pink rock.
The following day, the group took in iconic sites like the Treasury and the Siq. Then it was off to the Wadi Rum desert for a “magical night under the stars, in bubble tents offering a breathtaking view of the nocturnal sky.”
The following morning, a 4×4 excursion allowed participants to discover the lunar landscapes of the desert and 200-year-old Bedouin rock engravings, with traditional tea in a Bedouin camp. Then it was off to Aqaba and the Red Sea, a dynamic port city.
The journey continued along a scenic route to the Dead Sea, offering striking landscapes between the desert, arid protruding mountains and shimmering salt waters.
Finally, the last day was devoted to the discovery of Jerash, an ancient Roman city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, remarkably preserved with its temples, forums and ancient theatre. To end this adventure, a visit to the Amman Citadel provided a panoramic view of the capital and its historical remains.
This educational trip allowed participants to discover the wonders of Jordan firsthand and provided them with the necessary resources to better advise their clients on this fascinating destination.
