Travel advisors get into the festive spirit in Vienna

From seeing Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss in person at Belvedere Palace Museum to touring Vienna’s charming Christmas market, Canadian travel advisors got into the festive spirit during a FAM trip to the city from Nov 10-16.

“The aroma of festive baking delights, hot punch and toasted almonds wafted through the air,” shared Armando Mendonça, president of AMpm Canada, who escorted the FAM trip. The market is open from mid-Nov to Christmas Day each year.

Over the course of the week, the group had the chance to explore key landmarks like Habsburg Palace and the Spanish Riding School, Schönbrunn Palace, Naschmarkt, St. Stephens Cathedral and more.

“The culinary scene ignited my senses,” he said, noting that the participants dined at Michelin Star Edvard Restaurant, the Anantara Palais Hansen, Gasthaus Apiano, Brasserie Palmenhaus Vienna and Leopold Cafe and Bar.

The group consisted of: Anne Marie Angers, CAA Travel; Renée Wilson, AMpm Canada Quebec; Lakshan Samarasinghe, Minor Hotels; Nathalie Guilbert, Voyages Fleur de Lys; Danielle Kaiser, Lufthansa Group, Antonella Daneluzzi,Victours; Jimmy Stavropoulos, Voyages a la Carte; Barb Abrams, Aufgang Travel; Elke Bachner, Vienna Tourist Board and Elisabeth Wolf, Artissimi, Vienna.

Host Hotels included Park Plaza Vienna and Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna, with sight inspections at Sans Souci Vienna, Rosewood Vienna, Grand Hotel Vienna and Sacher Hotel.
