Travel advisors explore Copenhagen, Stockholm and Swedish Lapland with 50 Degrees North

Nordic tour operator 50 Degrees North recently completed an exclusive FAM tour designed to immerse select American travel advisors in the most luxurious facets of Denmark and Sweden. 50 Degrees North’s Kristin Andersen, head of strategic partnerships, and Elaine Nelson Peik, general manager, BDM, and senior Nordic destination specialist for North America accompanied the week-long journey, held from Nov. 7-14.

Nine top-tier travel advisors received an inside look into the allure of the Nordic region, unveiling hidden gems, luxurious stays and cultural highlights across Copenhagen, Stockholm and Swedish Lapland.

The tour kicked off in Copenhagen, showcasing Denmark’s royal heritage and contemporary elegance. The group was welcomed with exclusive site visits to iconic properties — Villa Copenhagen, the Nimb Hotel, and the Nobis Hotel — staying in the latter two. Their exploration continued with a private VIP tour of Tivoli Gardens and a guided city walk through Copenhagen’s historic highlights, including Christiansborg Palace, complemented by local flavours at Torvehallerne Market.

Travelling onward, the advisors experienced Stockholm’s charm, exploring Gamla Stan (Old Town) and visiting celebrated landmarks such as the Royal Palace and the Vasa Museum. Exclusive dinners were hosted at the Grand Hotel and Stockholm’s City Hall, and the group also enjoyed an immersive experience at the iconic ABBA Museum. Accommodations were arranged at the Lydmar Hotel and the Grand Hotel Stockholm, which recently celebrated its 150th anniversary.

Concluding the journey, the group ventured north to Swedish Lapland, where they embraced the Arctic wilderness. Highlights included stays at the Aurora Safari Camp and The Outpost Lodge, with activities like snowmobiling and snowshoeing across the Arctic Circle, followed by cosy, fireside meals and traditional fika. Advisors were also treated to the relaxing Nordic winter lifestyle with time in traditional saunas.

Reflecting on the tour, Nelson Peik emphasised the unique opportunity it provided: “For travel advisors, experiencing the magic of the Nordics first-hand is essential in designing truly memorable trips for their clients. This tour allowed us to share our insider knowledge and showcase the heart of Scandinavian hospitality.”

The journey exemplified 50 Degrees North’s commitment to empowering travel advisors with unique experiences and local expertise, enabling them to create exceptional Nordic travel experiences for their clients.
