Cuba committed to tourists’ and locals’ well-being

Cuban tourism authorities say they will soon unveil new anti-coronavirus measures aimed at ensuring both the health of the Cuban population and tourists visiting the Caribbean country.
Cuba has prided itself on offering tourists a safe vacation and the director of the Cuba Tourism Board’s Toronto office says it remains committed to the well-being of all on the island.
“The minister of tourism will soon be announcing the new hygiene and sanitary protocols to be put in place before and during the reactivation of tourism activities, providing safety for the Cuban people, one of the main priorities for the Cuban government,” says Lessner Gomez. “Constant communication has also been held, at a distance, with all stakeholders in the tourism industry to keep them informed on all current activities. During the past months, the Ministry of Tourism has implemented a first-phase campaign on social media, ‘If you take care of yourself, you take care of others.’ Now we are venturing into our second-phase campaign, ‘Imagine.’ We would like to take this opportunity to send a message to all travel agents, tour operators and to all Canadians that, hopefully, we will soon be able to see each other and when that time comes, Cuba — with all its natural charm, vibrant culture and kind people — will be waiting for you with open arms.”
