Property opened during the pandemic

An international pandemic didn’t put the kibosh on an upscale addition to Nayarit’s hospitality industry.

The Conrad de Mita opened in 2020, the first year that Covid sent international tourism into a tailspin, but director of marketing Yvonne Biegel says that the oceanfront Riviera Nayarit retreat weathered the pandemic without any of the great setbacks that saw some hotels in other parts of the world forced to temporarily close.

“We were busy as Mexico remained open (to international tourists),” Biegel reports.

The pandemic led to nations around the globe closing their orders to vacationers but Mexico took the non-mainstream step of continuing to host them.

The Conrad de Mita — part of Hilton Hotels’ upscale Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand — also differs from many other oceanside Mexican resorts in the type of vacations it offers, with Biegel reporting that “our clients don’t want all-inclusive” stays.

“Our goal is to create an unparalleled escape where luxury travellers can bask in the warmth of Mexican hospitality while indulging in exclusive experiences that resonate with their passions,” said Marco Tabet, general manager. “Our Conrad Concierge exemplifies our dedication to delivering purposeful service, passionately delivered along with cherished memories that last a lifetime.”

Guests will have access to exclusive immersive experiences  throughout their visit, personally tended to by the Conrad Concierge. Tailor-made activity plans include local excursions, adventures and cultural experiences, along with romantic beach dinners, sunrise breakfasts and gourmet picnics.

The concierges are also available for personal tasks including unpacking luggage, coordinating airport transfers, running a bath with bubbles, salts, and oils to select from, and daily shoeshines.

The Conrad de Mita has 265 rooms that have an “airy, coastal decor, Indigenous artwork and private balconies.”

Also found are 59 suites that have the likes of patios, plunge pools, oversized bathrooms, walk-in showers, double vanities and outdoor showers.

Two-bedroom suites are also available.

All guest units have Pacific Ocean views.

Guests will find a choice of restaurants, with authentic local dishes available.

Also found at the resort are three swimming pools, a spa, games room, outdoor and indoor event space, a ballroom and two meeting rooms.

The Conrad Punta de Mita notes it’s in the same private development as the Litibu Golf Course, an 18-hole course designed by Greg Norman.
