A look at the latest hotel and resort news from fresh renovations to brand new properties and noteworthy packages.
Aspen Meadows Resort in Colorado is undergoing a guest suite renovation which pays homage to its Bauhaus roots. Michael Suomi of Manhattan-based Suomi Design Works was commissioned for the project, which will be fully complete in April.
The 98 all-suite property, located within walking distance of Aspen’s world-class year-round outdoor pursuits, skiing, shopping and restaurants, has undergone a series of improvements since Salamander Hotels & Resorts took over the property. The new design features reds, blues and yellows to represent the Bauhaus’ original primary colour theory.
With an anticipated opening of summer 2023, Lindian Village Beach Resort Rhodes, Curio Collection by Hilton, is set to be the third opening in three years in Greece under the Curio brand.
The 196 room resort will be the first Curio Collection hotel in Rhodes, one of the most visited Greek islands. Situated in the south-eastern part of the island near the picturesque town of Lindos, its Acropolis and a number of historic sites dated from the Archaic period to the post-Byzantine times, the resort will offer stunning sea views and garden views with access to a private, sandy beach.
Aside from its prime location, all guest rooms of Lindian Village Beach Resort Rhodes will be fitted with a private outdoor area and 85 rooms will also include a private pool or hot tub. The resort will feature five restaurants serving a range of local and international cuisines, two bars & one gelateria, all with a concept designed by Trastelis Group, owner of two Michelin star restaurants. Amenities will include two outdoor pools, a fitness centre, a spa, water sports, a tennis court and two meeting rooms that will be able to accommodate up to 150 people.
If London is calling, consider staying at Hyatt Regency London Albert Embankment. The 142-room hotel, which marks the eighth Hyatt-branded property in London, has a prime riverside location and is in close proximity to the city’s most notable attractions including the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and Big Ben.
The contemporary guestrooms make the most of its riverside spot, with many featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that provide immersive views of the city’s iconic skyline. On the 14th floor, a range of executive suites offer king-size bedrooms, spacious, modern bathrooms, and relaxing lounge areas, accompanied by a private balcony for guests to enjoy exclusive panoramas across London.
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has its sights set on a new Fairmont hotel in downtown San Diego, California. Scheduled to open in 2027, Fairmont Manchester San Diego will occupy a prime location on the North Embarcadero of the San Diego Bay, directly across from the USS Midway Aircraft Museum, adjacent to the Cruise Ship Terminal, and within walking distance of the San Diego Convention Center and the famed Gaslamp Quarter. The hotel is part of a development transforming San Diego’s downtown waterfront with over five acres of green space and more than 1.7 million square feet of best-in-class offices, retail, restaurants, public art and entertainment.
The 36-story glass tower will feature 1,160 rooms, including 69 suites and Fairmont Gold, the brand’s distinctive hotel-within-a-hotel experience boasting VIP service, exclusive lounge and private reception desk. High-end amenities will include luxury spa and fitness facilities, rooftop pool, and more than 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, including two 20,000 square-foot ballrooms. The hotel will welcome both guests and locals to six dining venues, including a 160-seat signature restaurant, coastal Baja cuisine, noodle shop, rooftop poolside grill, gourmet café, and lobby bar, each offering both indoor and outdoor seating to take advantage of San Diego’s weather.
Playa Hotels & Resorts has taken on the management role of Seadust Cancun Family Resort in Cancun, Mexico. Playa will lead all operations, sales and marketing of the resort, which joins the company’s portfolio of 23 properties across Mexico and the Caribbean.
Located along the white sand beaches on the southern Cancun Hotel Zone, the 502-room resort has 19 restaurants, lounges and bars, a fitness centre and a full-service holistic spa. Rooms offer views either of the Atlantic or the Nichupté Lagoon. Guests can enjoy the Treasure Island Water Park which includes slides, a pirate ship, water games and more. For the adults, there is an exclusive Club Caribe swimming pool in addition to one infinity pool, one kid’s pool and a baby pool.
