Riu Gran Canaria

Following a full refurbishment, RIU Hotels & Resorts has reopened the Riu Gran Canaria. The 4-star, 24-hour All-Inclusive hotel has a new look with a fresh design as well as new facilities, restaurants, bars and services.

The hotel Riu Gran Canaria has 639 rooms with wooden furniture combined with green and beige tones. The façade has also been modified to extend the rooms. In terms of entertainment, the hotel is se to host its RIU Party events for the first time on Gran Canaria at the end of the year.

The main restaurant “Las Dunas” has undergone a complete makeover. In addition to a completely fresh design and layout, new terraces have been created in the garden so that customers feel a true connection with the outdoors. The gourmet restaurant “Kulinarium” and the Italian restaurant “Amore Mio” are two new options that have been added to the hotel’s existing selection. The hotel now has a new Sports Bar next to the “Moka” café-bar in the bar area, as well as the “Tivoli” Lounge Bar in the garden. The outdoor area boasts a new swimming pool, which will host entertainment and sports activities. This brings the total number of pools to seven.

The Largo

Formed across five 16th-century buildings in Porto’s Largo de São Domingos neighbourhood, The Largo is a new 18-room hotel that is modelled on a traditional Portuguese house. The hotel is part of Annassurra, a newly launched collection of travel and hospitality projects.

The philosophy behind Annassurra was to create considered spaces with meaningful connections to the local neighbourhood, and implement detailed service with an emphasis on hosting. The aim is for guests to leave The Largo, and indeed all Annassurra’s future projects, feeling like they spent time at the family home of a close friend.

The Largo features chef Nuno Mendes’ Cozinha das Flores, and a neighbouring bar named Flôr. The contemporary interiors were carefully designed by Space Copenhagen to spotlight regional artisans and local materials.
