From a new opening in Cancun to refreshed villas in St. Kitts, here’s the latest hotel news
Meliá Casa Maya Cancún
Meliá Hotels & Resorts celebrated the official grand opening of Meliá Casa Maya Cancun this month, following its soft opening in December.
The resort features 260 all-inclusive rooms (there are also vacation club rooms and condo units) and opened its doors after an extensive US$26 million renovation. For clients looking for an upgraded experience, the brand’s The Level suites are part of the offering, complete with butler service.
The family-friendly resort includes its own waterpark, complete with slides, splashpads and its own pool.
Restaurant options include a buffet, an Italian restaurant, a grill and an outdoor spot serving up international cuisine.
The property is located 22 km from the Cancun airport.
Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan
Following its recent opening, Casa Brera, is now part of Marriott International’s The Luxury Collection. The hotel’s 101 guest rooms and 15 suites reflect the spirit of Milanese art, culture, and design, combining timeless elegance with contemporary touches. The property features an outdoor pool with views of Milan’s skyline. Notably, the hotel is only an eight-minute walk from Sforza Castle.
Originally designed in the 1950s by the esteemed Italian architect Pietro Lingeri, a leading figure of Italian Rationalism, the building’s heritage is celebrated through its geometric graphics present on the walls, floors – true marble carpets – and ceiling, that outline the interiors.
Park Hyatt St. Kitts
Park Hyatt St. Kitts has unveiled three transformed villas, which are now available for bookings. The resort, home to 124 beachfront accommodations, revealed its renovated Three Bedroom Presidential Villa and two One Bedroom Bi-Level Villas with Rooftop Pools, previously categorized as penthouse suites.
Each One Bedroom Bi-Level Villa with Rooftop Pool features 2,300 square feet of space with floor-to-ceiling windows, a rooftop swimming pool with 2,165 square feet of deck space, as well as a walk-in dual rain shower, deep soaking tub, and an outdoor shower and lounge. The most luxurious villa experience lies in the Three Bedroom Presidential Villa, the largest accommodation at the resort, which spans 5,280 square feet over two stories and features a master with ensuite, one bedroom with two queen beds and a king bedded room, a lounge area with pool table, a private infinity pool, private fitness space and equipment, spacious terraces and direct access to the ocean. All three transformed villas reveal newly built, fully equipped kitchens with wine fridge and laundry facilities.
Flamingo Las Vegas
In time for a spring opening, Flamingo Las Vegas is introducing an all-new GO Pool spanning nearly 1.5 acres. The US$20 million pool complex will feature five pools for guests 21+ and a 30-seat swim-up bar. Additional highlights include temperature-controlled pools, 33 VIP cabanas with elegant furnishings, cool-deck surfacing, night lighting and a robust sound system.
The main pool will feature a swim-up bar covered by a large canopy with in-water seating for 30 guests. A 50-foot-wide “rain curtain” waterfall and adjoining grotto pool will cascade into the main pool. Sitting at the crest of the waterfall, high-energy DJs will keep the party going seven days a week. There are 55 towering palm trees and 35 additional tree varieties that were transplanted from the original GO Pool complex.
For a VIP experience, clients can rent cabanas and in-water couches and daybeds with exclusive access to the three smaller pools that are elevated from the main pool. The GO Pool is part of Flamingo’s multi-phase transformation project, where the resort has welcomed several new offerings, including Pinky’s by Vanderpump, Gordon Ramsay Burger and Havana 1957.
