Envoyage Canada has appointed David Gallie to the role of member support leader. In this new role, Gallie will work closely with travel advisors and play a key role in driving innovation and success for its network.
With a distinguished history of nearly 30 years in the travel industry, Gallie brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a deep understanding of how to support a thriving network of travel advisors. Gallie’s journey with Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) began at one of Eastern Canada’s earliest retail locations. He quickly rose to become the region’s first Retail Area Leader in 2000, kickstarting his leadership career. After five successful years in retail, he transitioned to the product side, excelling in roles across project management, contracting, wholesale leadership, and product marketing.
Julie Sareault has been named the new commercial director for Transat, replacing Nicole Bursey who is stepping down from her long-held post. Sareault will be responsible for overseeing Transat’s tour operator commercial efforts nationally. The changes come as Transat consolidates its commercial activities in an “effort to simplify and streamline” its sales activities. Sareault has held various positions with the company, including manager, national sales, and manager, sales Quebec and Ottawa.
Goway has appointed Sean Hebert to the role of VP of the Americas. The newly created position will see Hebert work directly with the travel trade, with a major focus on supporting the travel advisor community.
Hebert is no stranger to the travel industry, most recently as head of marketing partnerships at TourRadar, and he previously rose the ranks to regional vice president of sales at Kensington Tours.
Shane Buksh has joined Four Seasons Yachts as Director of Trade Sales. Buksh has 26 years of experience in the travel industry, most recently at Seabourn, and has worked for Royal Caribbean International, Flight Centre, Holland America Line and Canadian Airlines over the span of his career.
Buksh will be responsible for driving the B2B strategy for Four Seasons Yachts in select global regions including North America. The new luxury yacht company, which aims to bring the high-end experience Four Seasons offers to the sea, is set to debut in 2026.
Andrew Jones has joined First in Service LTD (F1S) as director of partnerships, leisure. With over 20 years of experience in the travel industry across North America, United Kingdom, and Australia, Jones will report directly to Gina Gabbard, chief strategy officer at F1S. In his new position, Jones will focus on expanding the leisure business by supporting F1S advisors, growing the agency’s leisure partnerships globally, including the cruise sector, and working with Virtuoso, the agency’s consortium of choice. Most recently, he served as director of travel partner relations at Ensemble Travel, where he successfully developed and executed strategic partnerships and led the company’s various leisure travel programs. Prior to Ensemble, he spent 20 years at Flight Centre Travel Group in both North America and Australia; during his last seven years there, he served as director, supplier relationships (cruise & tour) for the North American market. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jones is a travel enthusiast who has explored over 80 countries.
Isabel Martin-Benitez has taken on the role of director with the Tourist Office of Spain in Canada. Martin-Benitez has relocated from Madrid to Toronto to take on the post. Martin-Benitez previously served as the director of the tourism office in Poland and held the position of deputy director of management at Turespaña in Madrid, the Spanish institution responsible for the promotion of Spain as a tourist destination in the world.
With experience in tourism promotion, marketing and management, her main goal in Canada is to promote Spain as a sustainable destination. She will try to find the better ways to show to the Canadian parts of Spain that are still unknown to them, highlighting its rich culture, nature, and gastronomy.
The WestJet Group has announced Jacqui McGillivray as its Executive Vice-President and Chief People Officer. With more than 30 years of demonstrated experience transforming global organizations, McGillivray will replace Angela Avery, who announced her retirement earlier this year.
McGillivray’s prior roles include, Executive Vice-President, Safety and Organization Effectiveness at Cenovus Energy, Head of Global Human Resources at Talisman Energy, and Vice-President, HR, Brand & Marketing for the Global Wealth Management division of RBC Royal Bank.
Heather Gerrard has a new role with the Sunwing Vacations Sales Team as Business Development Manager for Alberta and the Prairie provinces. Gerrard comes from Sunwing Vacations’ Inventory department, and previously worked at Signature Vacations in the Call Centre before moving to the Operations team. On Oct. 1, Gerrard migrated to the Sales Team under the management of Graeme Franklin.
The Hotel Association of Canada (HAC) has appointed Beth McMahon, MES, as its new President & CEO. An award-winning association leader, McMahon brings extensive experience to the role and is poised to lead the HAC into an exciting new chapter of growth and advocacy success. McMahon has been a transformative leader in association management for over twenty years. Most recently, she served as Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Institute of Planners, growing its membership by over forty percent and substantially expanding its position with government and key partners. Prior to that, McMahon held the position of Vice President, Government and Public Relations, for the Canadian Vintners Association (now Wine Growers Canada).
Francine Allen is the new Director of Sales, Canada for Couples Resorts. Allen will spearhead sales efforts and strengthen relationships with key partners in the Canadian market across Couples Resorts’ four iconic properties—Couples Tower Isle, Couples Sans Souci, Couples Swept Away, and Couples Negril.
Bringing over 17 years of relevant experience, Francine joins the resort team from Venturo Hospitality Group in the UK, where she was integral in leading global marketing strategies and brand management. Her career also includes impactful roles at Air Canada, as well as marketing, sales, and hotel operations at Sandals Resorts and Unique Vacations.
