Safaris feature personally vetted lodges for LGBTQ+ travellers

For LGBTQ+ clients looking to experience the big five in Africa, African Travel, Inc. has launched a Pride Safari Guide featuring safari ideas and “personally vetted lodges and camps that focus on inclusion and sensitivity.”

“I couldn’t be more thrilled for African Travel’s focus on inclusivity and our ongoing journey,” Sherwin Banda, President of African Travel, Inc., tells Travel Courier. “Our Pride Safari Guide and President’s Safari journey are stellar selling-points for agents whose clients may have reservations about travelling to Africa. It also ensures client’s comfortability in being surrounded by an inclusive team and like-minded travellers.”

The luxury safari outfitter, which focuses exclusively on Africa, is offering safari experiences that combine wildlife encounters with a dedicated safari team — many of whom are LGBTQ+ — along with Make Travel Matter experiences.

“The new Pride Guide includes the President’s trip and offers travel tips available for advisors to share with clients to provide safari ideas for every travel style and further its commitment to ensuring an inclusive environment for all guests,” says Banda, who is pictured above with his family. “We are proud to launch our safaris that celebrate inclusivity for all guests, regardless of their travel style. We believe, like the stripes on a zebra, no two guests are the same and our goal is to bring Africa to life in meaningful ways for all clients.”

For travellers looking to explore Africa while also ticking off the big five, the marine big five (whale, shark, seal, penguin and dolphin) and iconic landscapes, he suggests South Africa’s Natural Wonders.

For art and culture lovers, consider the Experience South Africa with “its progressive access in Cape Town, meeting one-of-a-kind Ardmore artisans, and indulging in laid back luxury at iconic lodges and hotels,” he says.
