Adventure Canada has mandated that all passengers, expedition team members, and crew require full vaccination against COVID-19 to travel aboard its Ocean Endeavour voyages, including those in the Arctic, Atlantic Canada, and Europe.

The small ship expedition cruise company, which hasn’t operated expeditions since the close of their 2019 season, notes that guests who currently have bookings and do not obtain a COVID-19 vaccination are eligible for a full refund.

“We are very excited to be welcoming guests back, to share and discover new places and cultures aboard our exciting new expeditions,” says Cedar Swan, the CEO of Adventure Canada. “Adventure Canada is fully dedicated to the health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we are honoured to visit. We’re looking forward to once again being able to offer regenerative travel experiences that advocate and strengthen nature and culture, and are essential to move forward into recovery and beyond.”

Roger Villiers, a travel advisor with Maritime Travel Victoria, fully supports the tour operators and airlines who have made similar decisions — even before the federal government’s announcement that travellers departing from Canadian airports, and travellers on VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer trains, will be required to be fully vaccinated as of Oct. 30.

“Absolutely. This is a positive move,” he says. “All of my clients are vaccinated and feel much safer knowing everyone else around them will be too.”
