A real agent booked destination wedding in Riviera Maya

After enduring travel restrictions and lockdowns during the pandemic, Michael Erfurt and Sherrie Lewis decided to plan their destination wedding rather quickly. But even in the short eight months leading up to their big day in January 2022, travel advisor Tammy Prost of Tropical Escapes Destination Weddings in Regina, Sask. said it was still a bit of a rollercoaster ride.
“We were in a constant wait-and-see mode as to what was going to happen, with the never ending government advisories, changes and testing/quarantine and vaccination requirements,” Prost told Travel Courier. “Plus, we were also dealing with when the government was going to open up our international flights again from Regina’s airport, which thankfully opened up November 30, allowing their travel and destination wedding to happen.”

The location: Grand Palladium Riviera Maya White Sand Resort & Spa, Mexico
Bride Sherrie Lewis noted that working with a travel advisor made having a destination wedding during a pandemic virtually stress-free.
“She was a blessing as we planned our dream wedding in Mexico. She communicated with us and our guests on a regular basis, giving us the peace of mind we so wanted and needed while not only planning our destination wedding but doing so during the pandemic,” she said. “She went above and beyond during the initial planning stages, while we were in Mexico and after we arrived back home. I truly didn’t have to worry about a thing and the experience was stress-free.”
The wedding, which took place on Jan. 12, marked Prost’s first destination wedding of 2022.
“We are so very thankful to have had both Tammy from Tropical Escapes and Nidia Paredes Herrera, our wedding coordinator at the Grand Palladium as they made our wedding day and vacation a dream come true,” the couple shared.
