Peru launches travel-focused Pan American Games web site

Peru’s Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PROMPERÚ) has launched a new web site that offers guests as many as 50 travel package deals from 23 tour operators to 11 Peruvian regions during Lima’s 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games, set to take place July 26 to Aug. 11.

The Peru Travel site – https://www.peru.travel/lima2019/en – is dedicated to promoting Peru and its many attractions to both athletes and visitors.

According to the organization, the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will bring together more than 6,000 athletes from 41 countries and the Parapan American Games will feature nearly 2,000 athletes from 33 countries.

The new web site offers users detailed information about various activities guests to the games can enjoy during the competitions including restaurants, cultural activities, attractions near sports venues and recommendations on routes and offerings to visit attractions outside of Lima.

The site also features videos of the Olympic and Para Olympic Peruvian delegation, images, a news section, nutritional information for a variety of Peruvian super foods as well as where guests can try their hand at sporting activities such as paragliding, surfing and cycling.

The travel package deals are a result of work by the Peruvian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Apavit), the Peruvian Domestic and Foreign Tour Operators Association (Apotur) and the Peruvian Domestic and Foreign Specialized Tour Operators Association (Asotur).
