An Argentinian hotel found in the country’s famed wine region says it has Grape Expectations for a new package it’s offering wine enthusiasts.

Mendoza’s SB Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites says its “Father’s Day Package” amounts to the “ultimate oenophile experience,” combining wine, vintage cars, views of the Andes Mountains, a traditional Argentine asado, and more.

The boutique hotel from pioneering winemaker Susana Balbo and her daughter Ana Lovaglio Balbo features authentic wine influences in the design, décor, and setting along with culinary experiences, art, wellness, and nature.

Argentinian wine, particularly that from Mendoza, is highly regarded globally. Mendoza’s Malbec is particularly famous, known for its rich flavors and high quality. Argentine wines have won numerous international awards, with the country’s diverse climates and terrains contributing to the production of a variety of quality wines.

“This package will primarily appeal to wine enthusiasts. The experience is deeply rooted in the wine culture of Mendoza, featuring activities like vineyard tours, special tastings at the Susana Balbo Winery, and luxurious amenities that emphasize the region’s wine heritage,” the SB Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites says.

The Father’s Day package is named to highlight its introduction around Father’s Day, aimed at attracting customers looking for a special gift for fathers. However, the extended availability through August allows for more flexibility, accommodating guests who might want to experience it during summer.

The three-night experience begins with a vintage car tour through Mendoza’s picturesque vineyards.

“Traveling along a stunning backdrop of the Andes Mountains, snow capped this time of year, the auto journey is incomparable,” the hotel states. “Upon returning to SB Winemaker’s House, guests are treated to a one-of-a-kind cooking lesson, immersing themselves in the art of preparing authentic empanadas and a traditional Argentine asado. They will learn about Argentina’s gastronomic culture while uncovering the secrets of producing the traditional dishes, from the precise combination of the ingredients, to the selection and preparation of premium cuts. Throughout the cooking class, expert chefs will provide supervision and guidance, ensuring a memorable experience. In addition, the Father’s Day package includes roundtrip airport transfers, a welcome drink, 15 minute post travel massage, daily a la carte artisanal breakfast, and a visit and special tasting at the Susana Balbo Winery. The only luxury wine hotel in Latin America with fully integrated in-room spa features and services in each suite, SB Winemaker’s House has seven spa suites for dads and their companions, each  with a steam room, sensations shower, heated loungers, oversized soaking tub, locally designed bath amenities, and massage table. Some also have saunas.”

The vintage car used varies by the tour. Participants are accompanied by a guide so guests are “not directly dealing with the car.”

The SB Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites says those exploring the area will be impressed by local scenery.

“Mendoza is renowned for its stunning scenery,” the hotel continues. “The region offers breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains and picturesque vineyards. The combination of mountainous landscapes, expansive vineyards, and clear skies provides an idyllic setting for travelers.”

The Father’s Day package is available to August and starts at US$1,575 per person per night based on double occupancy. A minimum stay of three nights is required.
