Henrique Braga jumped… And then jumped again… And again…
Florida-based travel agent Braga recently went on a Katerre Expedition fam in the Brazilian Amazon, where he was among the fearless travel agents who leapt off the upper deck of the Jacare-Acu into the Rio Negro some eight meters below.
Passengers who aren’t fearful of heights are invited to jump from a temporarily idle vessel, while those who are wary of leaping can simply bask in the warm Rio Negro water.
Braga cheerfully scampered back up to the Jacare-Acu’s upper deck after each leap, ready to throw himself back into the river again.
In fact, Braga jumped five times, unsurprising for anyone who’s familiar with the swashbuckling Braga’s history, which includes bungee jumping and skydiving.
“It doesn’t make my heart stop,” he says of leaps that would make some people uneasy and which others wouldn’t even consider.
The plunge from the Jacare-Acu might seem a little less dramatic than bungee jumping or skydiving but Braga cautions that, “If you fall the wrong way it hurts.”
Meanwhile, even the indefatigable Braga reached a point where he had leapt into the Rio Negro a sufficient number of times and realized it was time to just relax in its calm water.
