Oasis eager to offer Cancun visitors choices

By: Ian Stalker

Oasis Hotels & Resorts is inviting clients to choose between all-inclusive and non-all-inclusive stays in a destination famed for its seemingly endless all-inclusive choices.

Pam Bassett, the company’s business development manager, Canada, said during a recent Baxter Media webcast that Oasis has seven hotels in Cancun, with the properties providing guests distinct options, including whether they want to go the all-inclusive route or opt instead for the likes of an EP stay.

“There are clients who do not want all-inclusives,” Bassett said, noting Cancun is famed for its many restaurants and bars.

Oasis’ Cancun presence includes the Grand Oasis Hotel Complex, comprised of three hotels – the Pyramid at Grand Oasis and the Grand Oasis Cancun, both all-inclusive properties; and OH! Cancun on the Beach, an EP hotel. The complex features include a pool that’s a quarter of a mile long and three beach clubs.

Elsewhere, Oasis has the family all-inclusives Grand Oasis Palm & Oasis Palm, home to The Kids’ Zone featuring the Yucatan Jurassic River, which has fully supervised children’s programs for kids 3-12 years. Grand Oasis Palm’s adults’-only areas – including a cigar bar, entertainment venues and restaurants – are another feature.

Oasis’ other properties are Oh! Cancun the Urban Oasis and Smart Cancun by Oasis, two more options for those not wanting all-inclusive stays. Oh! Cancun the Urban Oasis does include daily breakfast and both it and Smart Cancun by Oasis have an EP plan.

Bassett praised the Oh! Cancun the Urban Oasis as being a “hip, chic, downtown Cancun” hotel that has three restaurants and two bars, and declared the Smart Cancun by Oasis as a property primarily intended for business travellers but which is also suitable for those travelling on a budget. The hotels are smallish, with the Oh! Cancun the Urban Oasis having 62 rooms and the Smart Cancun by Oasis having 132 rooms. Both offer workstation suites.

Bassett said Oasis offers a number of financial incentives for guests, including allowing two kids to stay and eat free when sharing a room with two paying adults.

Guests may also find complimentary access to sister resorts, discounted golf is available at an 18-hole course and Oasis clients are offered free non-motorized sports at AquaWorld Cancun.

Bassett praised Oasis for its being able to host “amazing weddings” and elevating the “all-inclusive dining experience” with its diverse choice of restaurants, with Asian, Mexican and Mediterranean options among dining choices.

Virtual fam trips are available and OasisConnect.ca provides information on the likes of agent cash rewards bonus, travel agent rates and webinars..

Meanwhile, Bassett said Oasis has taken many steps to safeguard clients during the coronavirus pandemic with the likes of on-site testing, flexible cancellations, fully digital check-in and check-out, and social distancing and requiring the use of masks in common areas.
