A travel agent shares her experience travelling to Jamaica

Adaluz Orgera, one of the owners of Travel Sensations, recently went to Jamaica on an Air Canada Vacations FAM. Travel Courier caught up with Orgera, who has been in the travel industry for over 25 years, to learn about her experience travelling during the pandemic.

I wanted to travel because I wanted to experience everything firsthand concerning the health and safety protocols. This way I can share it with my clients. The FAM trip with Air Canada Vacations was excellent. I felt safe from the moment that I arrived at the airport in Toronto, including all the check in procedures. I enjoy sharing my travel experiences and knowledge to assist my clients in making the right decision for their travel arrangements.

I stayed at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and the hotel was 50% full. The hotel is ready to receive guests with safety measures in place. When we arrived, our temperature was taken, the checkin counters have plexi glass, the staff wore masks all the time, there is hand sanitizer everywhere and everyone was keeping a safe social distance.

I’m more confident in selling travel now, because of my recent travel experience. As long as you follow all the safety protocols, which is easy to do, I would say it’s pretty safe to travel.

Knowing that the airlines and hotels are doing everything possible to keep everyone safe, the experience is worth the 14-day quarantine. Because of this experience, I am looking forward to travelling at Christmas and the New Year. Jamaica like always was wonderful with beautiful people and great weather.
