FLAIR AIRLINES EXPANDS EAST
Flair Airlines reports its 2020 summer schedule will expand service into Eastern and Atlantic Canada starting in May.
New destinations include Ottawa (pictured above), Saint John, NB, Charlottetown, PEI, as well as a return to Halifax.
Sarah Riches, director of commercial for Flair Airlines, commented, “Our mission is to make air travel accessible, affordable and desirable for all. Eastern and Atlantic Canada have long been plagued by high airfares and undesirable service. Simply put, they have been paying too much for too little, and we believe it’s time for change.”
In addition to their new Atlantic routes, Flair has also relaunched service between Calgary and Kelowna.
To celebrate their new summer schedule and destinations, Flair is offering introductory one-way fares between Toronto and Ottawa starting at $59 and fares between Toronto and Saint John from $79, including all taxes and fees (limited seats available for a limited time).
The first new route commences service on April 16 between Calgary and Kelowna, followed by Toronto to Halifax on May 14, Ottawa on June 16, Charlottetown on June 26, and Saint John on June 25.
Bookings are now available for the newly announced routes for booking until Oct. 24.
AIRLINEPROS REPS TAG GUATEMALA
AirlinePros Canada Inc. reports that TAG Guatemala is now an active member of BSP Canada.
“TAG Airlines” has opted for mass e-plating, so that all fully IATA-registered travel organizations in Canada may start issuing tickets on 5U e-stock. 5U can be booked in all major GDS systems such as Amadeus, Sabre and Apollo.
At this time, 5U is progressively introducing credit card acceptance (VI/MC) forms of payment via GDS systems in Canada. This is in addition to standard “cash” transactions.
Agents may claim 3% commission POS on 5U-operated flights with 5U-published fares.
TAG Airlines has appointed AirlinePros Canada to oversee BSP co-ordination in Canada.
Karl Müller, Canada director of AirlinePros, commented, “Central America not only is a growing region for FIT and tourism-related travel, but ongoing bilateral business activities, and the fact that Canada hosts a large immigrant diaspora from Central America will be of special interest to those that require ongoing regional connections once arriving in that region. 5U maintains a diversified route network that connects Guatemala with various destinations in Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico and Belize.

SWOOP ADDS PHOENIX BOUND ROUTE FROM YWG
Swoop, Canada’s low-fare carrier and subsidiary of WestJet Airlines Ltd., is now offering service to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) from Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG).
It is Swoop’s first service to Arizona via Winnipeg.
The new non-stop route operates twice weekly bringing Canadians to the Phoenix/Mesa area. Flights will operate through April 23.
