Enjoy Travel Group has opened a Montreal office
Travel agents now have another option when it comes to sending clients to southern sunspots. Enjoy Travel Group has just opened a Montreal office, with the Spanish firm saying it has been working on a Canadian presence for over a year.
The Barcelona-based company began operation in 2001, first using the name Skedio Travel. Enjoy Travel Group is now sending people from both Montreal and Toronto year-round to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Varadero, Santa Clara, Cayo Coco and Holguin, Cuba; Cancun, Mexico; and Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Florida.
“These destinations are popular in the Canadian market and these are a start. We plan to offer more in the future,” said Sabrina Dayle, Enjoy Travel Group’s Canadian sales, marketing and operations director.
None of the destinations Enjoy Travel Group is offering are new in the Canadian market but Dayle said her company will be able to build a following in this market “by building trust, and offering excellent customer service, conducting webinars, and collaborating, visiting the agencies and providing training.
“We offer tailor-made itineraries, FIT, we have our own local DMC in the destinations, we offer diverse experiences and various types of accommodations. We are flexible in terms of the products we offer, agents can book transfers-only, excursions-only and combine destinations.”
Enjoy Travel Group is reaching out to a broad swathe of the travelling public, with its brochure stating its target markets include nature, sports, outdoors and golf enthusiasts, along with MICE, LGBT, weddings, incentive groups and “thematic programs” also important.
The tour operator is using Air Transat as an air partner. The company also plans to use Dominican carrier Arajet for its Punta Cana program.
Enjoy Travel Group is now represented in 11 countries, which Dayle said serves it well, giving it international insights.
The company — which recently hosted Toronto travel agents in that city’s Dominican Republic Tourism Board office — notes it has packages that include land and air; land-only programs; excursions that can be booked before travel; transfers; and a selection of four- and five-star hotels, among them properties belonging to such brands Melia, Royalton, Memories, Iberostar, Valentin and Sheraton, with Dayle praising company flexibility when it comes to arranging FIT travel.
Enjoy Travel Group’s decision to send tourists from Montreal and Toronto to Punta Cana was welcomed by Cosette Garcia, director of the Dominican Republic Tourism Board’s Montreal office.
“Enjoy Travel Group’s entry into Punta Cana’s tourism market is expected to have a significant impact,” she said. “The influx of tourists brought by Enjoy Travel Group can contribute to the local economy by creating jobs and increasing revenue for local businesses. Also having this tour operator with a local office in destination, of course helps to make all transitions of the experience of travellers easier.”
Meanwhile, SIREV has partnered with and welcomed Enjoy Travel Group’s Canadian arrival.
“This Spanish tour operator, backed by over 20 years of experience in Cuba, now invites…agents to explore unique, customized travel options for their clients beyond traditional all-inclusive packages,” SIREV said. “With the recent opening of its Montreal office, Enjoy Travel Group positions itself as a key player for selling Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Florida. Whether for a cycling group, salsa or cooking classes, or cultural activities, Enjoy Travel Group allows you to travel passionately and authentically.”
