Haven Resorts & Spas readies for Oct. 1 reopening

Ian Stalker

Haven Resorts & Spas has chosen Oct. 1 as the reopening date of its Cancun-area Haven Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa, with North American director of sales & marketing Jan LaPointe saying the company has opted for a “slow and steady recovery” based on consumer confidence about travel.

Like other destinations, Cancun saw resort closures at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic but area tourism authorities are now working to attract visitors back to what is normally a hugely popular part of the world.

LaPointe says her company is now “focusing on bringing the Haven Riviera Cancun back to the forefront and giving guests the confidence and security in which to travel.”

But she adds that Haven is also looking down the road at building a larger presence in the Cancun area, with its next project being “adding a convention center, followed by a future family brand resort, situated next to our exclusive, intimate, adults-only property. Both these projects will not begin until there is significant recovery in the region. We’re hoping to announce the ground-breaking on these two projects next year.”

LaPointe, whose career has made her well familiar with tourism in the Cancun area, says the location of the current Haven resort is ideal for guests because of its close proximity to the airport and Cancun excitement.

“Additionally, with just over 300 rooms, Haven is unique in the sense that it is a boutique-size resort with hip, chic and spacious suites in an intimate ‘zen’ setting. Think luxury service level, design and amenities meet all-inclusive concept,” LaPointe adds.

Meanwhile, Haven Resorts & Spas has begun a newsletter that describes new offerings and incentives for travel advisors. The HipAdvisor is designed for Haven’s most valued and trusted travel advisors, known as “HipAdvisors,” and the bi-monthly newsletter will bring, “timely and informative content to best help sell the luxury resort.” HipAdvisors will also receive exclusive offers, contests and invitations” to exclusive events, the company says. To sign up, advisors should visit havenresorts.com/thehipadvisor.

Travel agents can become a Haven “HipAdvisor” by completing the resort’s Preferred Advisor Academy course. Upon completion, they enjoy perks like a complimentary night, exclusive access to rates just for them, insider information and more. New travel advisors who complete the course by Sept. 30 will be entered to win an “ultra-luxurious, all-inclusive 3-night stay for two in the resort’s award-winning oceanfront Presidential Suite,” complete with a private terrace with its own hot tub, private wine cellar and chef-catered meals, as well as private bar and pool table surrounded by “opulent design and abundant luxuries.”

In addition, HipAdvisors who have completed the course qualify for Haven’s exclusive HipAdvisor Getaway Package. “The deeply discounted package allows for graduated advisors to experience the resort firsthand, at an amazing rate of only $299 per person for 3 nights.  To elevate their stay even more, advisors can upgrade to a Serenity Club Oceanfront Swim-out Suite for $399 per person for 3 nights,” the company continues. These offers are exclusively for Certified HipAdvisors and the link can only be found in the newsletter.

“We are so excited to further serve our incredible community of existing travel advisors with even more perks, while also expanding our community and guiding new travel advisors on how to expand their revenue and bookings through Haven,” says LaPointe.  “We know that travel advisors are an essential part of a resort’s success and we are thrilled to be able to offer amazing experiences, perks and surprises for our tribe.”

Haven Resorts & Spas is helping travel advisors make more bookings this winter by offering the best rates of the year. Through Sept. 30, the resort’s “Haven Is Back” sale offers savings up to 45% off for travel anytime in 2020 and 2021. This offer can be booked at www.HavenResorts.com/specialoffers.

Located 15 minutes south of Cancun International Airport, Haven Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa is an all-suite, adults-only, beachfront resort centered on providing guests with an “all-inclusive personal sanctuary of tranquility, privacy and relaxation. Haven Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa offers a well-appointed selection of spacious 333-suites, each with private terrace or balcony, in-room personalized mini bar, aromatherapy and Nespresso selections.
